Undergrowth

A hooded violet face hangs in the top left, its eyes drawn as two bright blue crescents, watching through a dense tangle of teal ferns, red leaves, rust vines and a single large leaf that curls across the middle. The ground behind it all is black.

The face is easy to miss at first and impossible to unsee afterwards. The plants are painted flat and bright, the face is painted dark and folded, and the picture is really about the moment the second one appears.
