HIMBAD

Himbad studied fine art at St Martin's. Frustrated by art taught by curriculum and marked by guide, he took his vision to the streets.

He has painted with spray cans and with brushes on the end of impossibly long poles, on buildings in outlying and sometimes dangerous places: from Balata refugee camp in Palestine to New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Ibiza, Berlin, London, Warsaw, the Middle East, Beijing, Shanghai, Chiang Mai, Bangkok and skyscrapers in Tokyo.

The side of a wagon, the tail of a train, a recurring cat on the corner of a wayward street: each piece of street art makes an exhibition of its location. That act is, in some ways, a profoundly inclusive one.
