Canopy

A small teal creature with a third eye stands upright among fern fronds, arms out, grinning, its striped tail whipping up and away behind it. The ferns fill the whole canvas in mint, jade and a dusty violet, layered so thickly that the ground barely shows through.

The figure is painted in the same palette as the leaves, so it hides in plain sight until the eyes catch you. The tail is the one loose line in a picture built almost entirely of blades.
