Two creatures crowd the left half of the picture, one above the other, in grey blue with pink and coral edges: the upper one grinning with a long green eye, the lower one staring out with a single round pupil. To the right a red orange sky, a low sun, and two palm trees standing on a small island.
The sunset is painted flat and soft, almost like a poster, and the creatures are painted hard and sharp. That contrast is the joke and the tension: a holiday view, and something looking at it that does not belong in a holiday.
