Tears

Two enormous wet eyes, lit from the front, float in a field of deep violet that fades to black at the edges. Below them a small closed mouth, and on each cheek a tear drawn as clear glass with the light bent through it. The rest of the face is only suggested by a slightly lighter haze.

A digital painting, and the medium shows in the best way: the reflections in the eyes are exact and the dark is truly dark. It is the piece that looks back at you.
