A white cat with tall ears and a mouth full of fangs, drawn in black on a paper paste-up, filling an empty advertising frame on the side of a railway bridge. Above its head a single character, three bars and a stroke, like a crown or a brand. Below, a grey London afternoon: brick, a lamp post, a man walking home with a shopping bag.
This is the work where it usually lives. The frame was built to sell something, and for a while it showed this instead. The photograph is part of the piece: the cat only makes sense with the street around it.
