Hex Garden

A small green creature with a helmet of a head and dark, wet eyes sits on a lilac branch that winds up from the bottom left. Behind it the ground is a patchwork of hexagons, each one filled with its own tiled pattern, in yellow, purple, teal and rust. Top right the patchwork gives way to real trees, black trunks against a wash of autumn yellow.

It is the busiest surface in the room and the figure is the only calm thing in it. The geometry reads as wallpaper, as a game board, or as a forest floor seen from very high up, and the creature seems as unsure as you are.
